Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD)
AIDS/HIV exists all over the planet these days. You should not forget there are other STD's you can catch through unprotected sex. Be sure to use a condom. Don't share needles (better still - don't do drugs).

Fevers
There are many other diseases, transmitted in many ways, and which are manifested as strong fevers. Some are serious infections and have no method of prevention or cure. Consult with your local health authority for up-to-date information.

Tuberculosis
Tuberculosis has been making a come-back recently, and some of it's strains are viturally resistant to all available treatments.

Travellers' Toilet Tales
People who travel are full of stories surrounding their bowel troubles. You are bound to encounter some internal difficulties while you wander, sampling new cuisine and water. If you can, the best treatment for these upsets is to stop and rest for a few days. Drink plenty of clean fluids, reduce or avoid food, and rest. Taking thin soups or broths are good, as are rehydration drinks. It is better to get the bugs out of you rather than trap them with a diarrhoea treatment. If you must, use a doctor recommended preparation. Consider codeine phosphate, an active ingredient in some preparations, but be sure to consult with a doctor first regarding suitability and dose before asking for a prescription. If you spot blood in your stools or if you are not better within a few days, suspect a more serious bowel infection and consult with a doctor.
